Iphone(Unlocked) costs $800 In India(Double the real price of $400)

Is it not funny i checked with some local Indian shops n online shops who are saying they have a sale where there is a discount on iphones in India & discounted cost is about $750 (INR 30,000 same or more as Nokia N95) and they r giving discount of $50 of actual price of $800.

But as we know actual price of Iphone is $400 but i came to know it is sold in India in black at double price. I would sugegst any Indian not to buy those as many US n Europe sellers ship to India for normal price of $400+$50(aprox. shipment n air freight charge).

But why is Apple not launching it officially here even tough it's being sold illegally with double price. I would like to have soon but can not pay double price.

Wow that's way overpriced, basically double of the retail price here in America. If I lived in India I would definitely just get it shipped from America and save money, don't pay twice the price it is here.

Wow, that is sad and frustrating! I mean $400 is a lot already but $800?!

Could one get even get an Iphone safely into the country? I'd worry about it getting damaged or stolen. I imagine most shipments from the U.S. get closer scrutiny.

The fact is due to Apple's agreement with perhaps AT&T GSM service provider which is only in US & unless the contract ends iPhone won't get officially launched in India which does not has International GSMs except Vodafone.

IPhone shipped from USA to India would cost about $450-$475 including all charges but we know the condition of iphone may get worsened
