Here are some alternate sources of windows updates and hotfixes.

About 150mb download.All updates after SP2 till february.
www.thehotfix.net
Individual downloads available.
Also available is Win XP SP3 preview.

to be honest, I wouldnt trust windows updates or changes unless it was directly from microsofts website myself. why, because its microsoft lol

Heck...some don't even trust Microoft! LOL Some swear off SP2 but I've not had any trouble with it. Shrug!

I know, I am not a huge fan of them, but If its something thats going to effect the OS itself, I would rather have the lesser of two evils

You don't know off a 3rdparty website if they changed or did anything to the updates or something like that, added spyware or what not. Maybe thats just my parnoia setting in again :eek:

I hate the way windows installs the updates from the microsoft website.
If we ever reinstall windows then all the updates will have to be installed again.
Downloading manually from Microsoft site is painful.
So I would rather download the updates from Autopatcher or thehotfix.net

I hate the way you have to use IE to get updates, stupid active x. Microsoft should put another updates site up for people that don't want to use there crappy browser.
