How many of you do/would consider purchasing movies that way? It would most definately be cheaper than buying them from the store, and save you the time, energy, and gas of going to the store. Would you burn it to have a hard copy?

I think that technology is going the other way. I own somewhere around 350 stamped DVD's. What I believe will eventually happen is that I will rip each of these DVD's and store them all on a RAID array.

Then, I will make regular backups of that RAID array, probably still to tape -- but eventually to a newer technology.

So if I buy a movie from iTunes, it will go straight to the storage array and will never find it's way to a DVD player.
