Best books for computer n00bs

What's the best book first book for learning about computers? It's for my sister whos 13 and I don't have time to teach her. Anything better then one of those Dummies books?

The Dummies books are actually pretty good for a Noob.. simple enough without being insulting, they're a good start.

if she is just wanting to learn the ropes, just give her a couple links on the web. It's free and most are fairly simple. howstuffworks.com if very good for simple understanding.

I'd just show her some links on the web although the "dummies" books arn't bad like mentioned above.

It really depends on what she wants to do, but if she's taking this seriously, then she definitely wants to read a programming book. She'll learn how to use email, web browser, MySpace and what have you in time. But if she wants to do something using computers, then she wants to establish some foundation. The best way to do that is to learn programming.
