| my thoughts if you look back at the computer i specked. i had a raptor drive in there. for those who do not konw the rapter spins at 10,000 rpm in stead of the normal 7,500. but the raptor is only 34 gig. so first off i would load my os to the raptor only. the other hard drives have a 16 meg buffer and dont need to be as fast. what do i need them to be as fast for. i am not going to be running anything that would require them to do anything more than what they are capable of doing. the second reason i chose not to go with scsi, is the dfi lanparty mother board, asside from being one of the most stable boards on the market in my opinion,(i have owned 6 and will never use another brand) will allow me to overclock. i am a big overclocker. not that the processor needs to be overclocked,m but it will make it easier for me to overclock the memory,( memory is there the bottle neck in this system would be) and allow me to get the processor and memory timing in sync. the better the timing between the processor and the memory, the faster the computer will run. why do i need a scsi to play mp3's, watch dvd's, or play games. another reason is the parts that i specked are fairly easy to come by at most any computer store.( and knowing me ill want to overclock a little to far and end up burning somthing) |
