Comparison Shopping Websites

I found this site, www.Techbargains.com, a few years ago and really love it.

I tell it to find lowest price on a particular item (mostly tech electronics, etc) and it shows the item at various websites plus can have shipping calculated so get true, "out the dorr" price.

Maybe there is one that is better now.

Any suggestions?

TigerDirect.com

Everyone swears by TigerDirect.com. I've never ordered from them myself but my bro loves them so do my IT guys.

Anyone have experience with them??

Red face

Maybe I'm a dope, but I've been buying from Dell for the past few purchases, mainly because I am big on having some kind of technical support for my computer equipment.

Since my last purchase, however, Dell tech support has turned to mush. I can't even begin to describe the lunacy I encountered there just trying to find out what kind of a soundcard the laptop I was purchasing had on it. I can't even find out if I should or could add a better soundcard, since what it seems I have is some kind of software, a codec or something, not an actual card, like back in the good old days.

I do internet radio broadcasting, so the soundcard is a big issue, which by the way, I still haven't resolved. Maybe I'll ask some questions in another thread!

Gee, I'm happy I found this site!! English is spoken here! What a great find!!

Hey NicoMoon,

Welcome!

I've heard the same thing re: Dell from a friend who works at Fry's Electronics. According to him, Dell use to be awesome and they use to build the computers (per request) here in the U.S. Apparently now they have a lot of stuff prefab'ed (fabricated) overseas. So... they manage to keep their costs down but now the products and services have taken a dive in quality.

It's sad to see a good thing go to pot!

You buy Dell!! :p

You should read through these and other forums, and learn to build your own computers.
You will save ALOT of money and best of all, build them just as you like

When I'm looking for reviews and comparisons before my purchase, I'll generally hit epinions.com first.. alot of non-technical reviews but sometimes you just need to know how Joe Average responded to their purchase.
