Open Firefox and on the address bar write about:config and hit enter
[Search for the string]
network.http.pipelining
double click and change the value to true
[Search for the string]
network.http.pipelining.maxrequests
double click and change the value to 34
[Search for the string]
browser.turbo.enabled

Rep Power: 6 | What potential problems could this cause?
I mean, there must be some reason why it is turned off by default. |

Rep Power: 4 | I have seen some improvements after this has been applied.
I will test it for a few days. If I encounter any problems, I can always remove it.
Thanks for the nice tip. |

Rep Power: 4 | True! If we encounter any problems, I think we can always go back to the default settings. As I might have mentioned earlier, I am very much new to computers compared to the other guys around here. Just my weak attempt to give something useful for everyone.
Another link to tweak up IE: http://www.windowsgalore.com/windows.98/ietips.html
Rather a long story out there, in that link. |

Rep Power: 4 | No these are pretty common tweaks
FF is known for being very tweakable, alot of people do this.
Just try it out, promise you it wont break your computer :P |

Rep Power: 4 | I have tried Firefox tweaks in the past but to be honest I did not notice a huge difference in speed.
Perhaps things have changed with the new Firefox version though, I will try them again |

Rep Power: 4 | I'll try it but hopefully I won't burn my modem!
EDIT: Seems like they removed the Browser.turbo line in 1.5 . I'm giving up, let me know if it gets faster in 1.5 also. |

Rep Power: 4 | I tried it and it didn't really have any change that I could notice.
It's hard to test though, because I was just basing it on my observations. It doesn't slow it down though.

Rep Power: 0 | I did this. I noticed a slight change in the speed. But compared to IE, its way faster by a landslide. Im starting to get addicted to it. |

Rep Power: 3 | I may try tweaking these settings sometime. I do not feel it is necessary right now for me, because everything is working all right for me. I do not want to risk causing any problems. |

Rep Power: 3 | I don't like to tweak my settings, I fear that something will go wrong later on. |
