Rep Power: 4 | Suggestion - Ever Been SCAMMED ??? Howdy (As Lyte would say) members of PC101
Has anybody been "scammed" before ? Like e-mails, retail scams, charity scams and so on ??
I discovered a very good web site for "all" these SCAMS !!! http://www.scam.com/
Very interesting reading. Also very helpful.

Rep Power: 7 | Well, the only thing I can think of was a former landlord who tried to keep $2,400 in security deposit. After about three month small claims suit, I got most of it back. But nothing in the way on email, phishing sort of scam.
I'll peep the link and see what's to be seen!

Lyte | Hey, that happened to me too. I fought it in arbitration, but lost that too, as I didn't have any photos to back up my story. I never felt so violated in my life. I lost $1050. |

I had one of those once. I did as you and reported it. The perpetrators are clever though. Their strategies seem to evolve all the time. I hope they get what they deserve.
I am suspicious of everything online and in my email that isn't absolutely familiar. |

It just requires a little bit of common sense, but sadly common sense can't be taught If something looks real but I can't prove it's real then I error on the side of caution and delete it. No credible company will ever ask for personal information via a e-mail. |

Rep Power: 0 | Yes, sadly I have been scammed on the internet before. I was on ebay searching to buy a pair of sneakers. I should of known that this deal on a pair of Nike's was too good. So when I received the shoes they were completely fake. They looked nothing like the photo the seller provided. I was never able to get my money back so yeah I was scammed and I'm always more careful when purchasing items on the internet now. |

Rep Power: 2 | ...that's why when we buy sneakers on ebay we only buy one at a time. If it looks good then we go back and buy the other one |

Rep Power: 2 | I know a dude that was ripped off for $7000 on ebay after paying for a z28 camero.
I would consider a pair of sneakers a cheap lesson learned.
