Am I missing Something (FTA)?

I just found out about FTA. If it is so easy to use and the hardware relatively cheap, why would anyone subscribe to (pay for) Dish, DirectTV, etc? Thanks for any enlightenment.

I'm not sure that I would feel comfortable calling FTA satellite "easy to use."

FTA is still for hobbyists; most television viewers want something they can just turn on and watch.

Most people don't want to know the longitude of the satellite where their favorite TV shows are being broadcasted to them from.

You are correct. FTA is easy and cheap. I currently run a Viewsat(the best as far as Im concerned). Running both Bev and DN on one unit. As far as Direct goes, you cant do it with FTA(yet).

Yes I have a sub...
There is only a "cardless" fix for viewsat, sonicview, and buzz at the moment.
All fixes are all over the net but I usually get them at totalfta.com

Woodman... are you from the hampton area by any chance? I think I know you
