Directv with a Dish Network Dish

My main question concerns whether a dish from one system will work with the other system. I.E. I have a Dish Network receiver and am wondering if I can use a dish sold for a Dish Network receiver with it or are they not compatible for some reason. I'm assuming that a dish is a dish and the receiver is what makes the difference between the signals you actually get.

The reason I am asking is because I am trying to set up a mobile dish system for my truck (18 wheels). 90% of the reason I want satellite is so I can get the football games, therefore I need to get Directv for the Sunday Ticket. Problem is I cannot find a signal to save my life with the portable dish that Directv sells. On the other hand, Dish Network has a dish system specifically designed for truck divers that they sell in truck stops. I know plenty of truck drivers that have this system and get great reception with it. However they don't have a Directv version and the team I want to watch (which, once again, is the main reason I even want satellite) is an east coast team so unless I get Directv I won't be able to see their games. So I'm wondering if I could just get the dish even though it is a Dish Network dish and use it with the Directv receiver or if they are for some reason incompatible between systems.

Any answers you could help me with would be very much appreciated.

Some dishes do support both Dish Networks and DirecTV.

Take a look at the Mobile Satellite Systems from KS Audio Video.

However, not all satellite dishes can receive both Dish Networks and DirecTV.

I am not familiar with the Dish Networks dish that you have. Can you tell us the model number?

Dishnet, Bell Expressvu, and DTV all use the same basic dish and LNB's

I dont know if the dish 500 system (dual lnb)will work on dtv but I do know the basic systems are 100% compatible.
