Mods on PC101

Howdy!

Some of you have expressed interest in becoming mods on PC101. Awesome! Thanks!

Part of PC101's future is addressing malware and dissecting HijackThis logs. Dealing with HJT is no easy task and should NOT be undertaken by anyone who is not fully versed on the process! So...

If you would like to become a mod on PC101 and address HJT logs you'll be required to complete the training provided by Malware Removal. This is a process which I've started myself! It's pretty fascinating really.

If you do not want to go through the training, that's perfectly fine. If you're selected as a PC101 mod you'll just not be able to address HJT logs.

So, if you'd like to be a mod on PC101 PM me regarding your interest. If you'd like to be a Mod who can address HJT logs, PM me your interest and join Malware Removal University. The staff there has kindly agreed to train us!

Fine print:
1. Mods are not being selected this moment. It's just that completion of the MWU course can take a little while so study should begin soon.
2. Completion of MWU course does not guarantee a mod position on PC101.

sounds pretty cool. What exactly are we learning on the forum. Do we just read posts there and learn from others or is their a specified course/tutorial they have? Thanks!

Hey firestorm,

It is pretty interesting! Basically, you'll read up on HJT (and some other stuff) and then they give you practice logs for you to dissect. You'll post what you think the corrections should be and the instructions you give to the "victim." At that point, one of the experts will go over your log and tell you how you did. As are you complete each log you go on to more difficult ones.

It's really interesting and for the problem solving mind! You have to read the logs and then go to a few different websites to determine if an item on the HJT log is evil or not.

If you have them delete the wrong thing their hosed!

Active Mods? Uhh.... none actually. I've been addressing some personal issues so I've not even been able to be on as much as I'd like to be... need to be... outta be! But I'll be back at full steam soon!

The Malware Removal University is actually at Malware Removal.com. I joined up and got through the first few courses but started up a new job. It's actually quite interesting!

It would be great to have an malware pro on PC101! That's a primary reason people go to forums looking for help... cuz, they got some piece of malware on their computer. Then they get help and see what a cool forum we have and decide to stick around!
