Let me know what I need to do to get the ball rolling on updating to 3.6.1 I'd like to try and do it myself but do I need to update the skin first?

Have you tried it on a test installation? The skin I use wasnt supposed to be 3.6.1 compatible but I installed it anyway and works fine

Did you have to update your templates any? When I upgraded to 3.6.1 I had 5 updates listed in the Admin CP but not sure what it wants me to update.

This evening I need to delete some of the hacks that won't go with 3.6.1 and at the same time I'm going to PM designer of this template and see what I need to change, download update or whatever to make the template compatible with 3.6.1

Lyte, As mentioned above, you might be better to create a new forum with 3.6.1, install all mods / hacks, put the new skin up, test it, and if everything works, use IMPEX to import the members, posts, threads. Or we can simple make a complete backup of your site, make a announcement of when you plan to do the upgrade, proceed with a upgrade and see what problems arise and correct them. Worse case would be a few days with a default vb skin until the new skin gets put up.

Nope, mine says I have about 17 templates to update but I cant see why or where, everything works as it should

You may think everything is working, but I am sure there are features of 3.6.1 that you are not able to see. For instance, in your postbit, do you see buttons for MultiQuote. This would be next to the Edit / Quote and quick reply buttons. Everything appears to work, because you are probably not aware of any additional features you may be missing out on. What version did you upgrade from? If from 3.6, then you probably are fine, if from 3.5.4 or earlier, you are bound to have problems. Also, 3.5.4 has a major security issue with MD5 Hash on the password protection making it easy for your forum to be hacked.

Sorry, I didn't catch that suggestion. Do you mean go with a skin we know works with 3.6.1? I'm up for whatever works, is easiest/most effiecient for you... me... or whomever does it! I just don't want to end with a skin that's seen on 20 different forums... ya know!?

If we need to start with whatever skin comes with 3.6.1 and then graduate to a nicer skin... that's kewl.
