Howdy aquariancore,

Welcome!

Do you have a price tag in mind? Is this for your desktop or laptop?

I don't do any video editing but from what I've read there's more to consider than just the motherboard. Editing video is a task that demand a lot from your CPU so Dual Processors or Dual Core CPU's is recommended. e.g...

Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 2.66GHz / 8MB Cache - $1000.00

AMD, Athlon™ 64 X2 Dual-Core 3800+ 2.0GHz - $600

You're also going to need a goodly amount of RAM and harddrive space depending on the size of the files/software you're working with.

There are a lot to choose from and you'll want to consider your system as a whole and not just the motherboard. So... what's your price range and what does the rest of your system look like?

Lyte

mother boards

abit, asus, abd dfi make great boards. it is not the motherboard that you are needing to look in to as much. first you need to identify what processor that you want to run, then memory (how much, and how fast). then graphics card. also are you wanting to have sata, or ide. are you wanting to have a raid?

thsese are the questions that need to answered before you choose your mother board.

About video upgrade

I understand about the processors, ram and graphic cards. What I want to know which will give me the performance as with video editing there is constant upgrading. Some motherboards have limitations and not all perform the same.

i have alwase had luck with DFI boards. i use the LanParty series. plenty of room for upgrading. very stable. bord is designed for overclockers, so if you want you can sync the ram timing, with the processor, and make your rig quite a bit faster and more efficant.
