car laptop mod
ok i'm sure some people have done this. but i'm wanting to get a touchscreen in-dash dvd-player for my car that has a usb hookup along with 3 sets of rca's. I'm planning on hooking up my laptop to it so that i can download music and movies. anyone know of someone doing this. i'm sure someone has i just haven't seen it yet...

questions
a touch screen dvd is going to start at $600 and go up from there i think. as for ones with usb connectins i have no idea. another thought for you is to either get an ipod, or a jump dirve to transfer and cary your music. the reason i say this is for starters you are going to have to continusuly power your laptop, and that means alwase haveing cables showing. second i think from a thiefs point of view, are you alwas going to take you computer in every where you go, because if not... then if someone could break in to your vehicle and take your computer, toughscreen dvd, and any thing else you have and since you would have such expensive things potentually just sitting there, in the open, it would make your car the target.

I have 4k in the system already... mostly in just subs and amps... before i get an indash dvd touchscreen i'm gonna get an alarm and tinted windows... that way it will deter thiefs anyways... and besides... on of my boys use to be the biggest thief in the city i live in so he knows everyone that does ****... word gets around if you steal something big like what's in my car... but i figured i would just have an extra set of wires run underneath the seat for the laptop... run everything hidden...

Too many "gadgets" in the car may cause accidents...thus increase your insurance rates. I sure the hell don't want to pay higher insurance rates because somebody gets into an accident playing their music to load.....or looking down at a laptop !!!


Just pay attention to the road & other drivers. Better alive than DEAD !!!

ive seen some cars like that at a car show i went to, i want one now but i believe they are very expensive, am i wrong?
