Heat-Sink Fans

Let's talk heat sink fans. We've all heard about them burning, just ceasing to function, etc.

When I built my computer, I used six fans. I used the "glue" to attach the heat sink fan to the processor, but forgot to use the side strips to lock it down. Within a few weeks, it was overheating and didn't know why. When I took the side off the computer, I realized what I had done and fixed it. No problems since.

I do believe they should be checked for security on a regular basis.

What do you mean you used 6 fans?
6 fans in the case total, or six on the CPU?? (which is not possible!)

Sorry to be the n00b here, but what are heat SINK fans?? Is it just another name for the main fan in a computer case?

I am not familiar with PC hardware. But what type of glue you have used. Will that transfer the heat to heat sink. I suppose you can use thermal stickers (It will have gum on both the sides). If the heat is transfered to HS only, it will solve the purpose.

Periodic verification will not work out in my opinion.

Did I answer to your question?

No, the heatsink fan is the fan attached to the CPU heatsink
