Looking for a good P4 overclocking guide

Hi,

Im looking for a guide on overclocking a P4 3GHz processor with 1GB RAM. Im not wanting to hugely overclock, just enough to squeeze a little more power from the processor.

Can anybody recommend a good guide/tutorial?

Thanks,

Rick

kinda curious myself on this one. I'm not too big a fan on overclocking but might try it a lil' if there is a good guide out there. Will search for one today.

Morning!

I know very little about overclocking. McDaddy is our resident Mod Boss so I'm sure he'll weigh in on this topic. But, I did find the guide below will doing my OC studies.

http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Ha...uides/OCguide/

Let me know if this helps!

i have a few questions for you

what kind of motherboard do you have?
what brand of memory do you have?
do you have 1 gig stick, or 2 512 sticks?
what kind of video card do you have?
what kind of cooling do you have? (air cooling or liquid cooling)

another question would be, is your computer a prebuilt one like Dell or HP? if so, i would reccomend not to overclock. if you have built your own, the biggest advice would be just dont do anyting stupid. it helps to take little steps as well, just go slowly like 3.1 3.2 .3.3 3.4 3.5 instead of 3.0 to 3.5 all at one time.
