| How To: Choose between a laptop and a desktop. 1. Determine if you really need to take your computer around with you (e.g. business trips, vacation, school, etc.) If yes, choose a laptop.
2. If you're going to be doing a lot of high-end graphics, working with multimedia or playing a lot of action/RPG games, choose a desktop. Laptops (typically) have much smaller screens and lower-resolution.
3. Be aware that with a desktop you're going to enjoy greater speed and with more funtionality than with a laptop. AND, very likely at a lower price.
4. Laptops for some reason (harder to toss a desktop:p ) are more prone to injury and abuse than your typical desktop. So, expect more frequent repairs!
5. If your job, hobby, whatever is going to demand upgradability, choose a desktop!
6. If you're on your (current) computer hour after hour, keep the "battery life" of the laptop in mind. Unless you can plug in you're work period will be severly limited.
Happy hunting!
