Using Skype VoIP (Voice over Internet Proticol) is as easy as 1. 2. and 3. You'll just download the Skype software, install it and making sure all the accessories needed (microphone, speakers and headphones) are compatible with your computer and Skype. - Download the Skype software from their site by clicking on the "Download Skype now" button. Then click on "Download now" just below "Skype 3.0 for Windows." Once clicked, you'll get a pop up stating the download is ready to start. Click on "Run"
- Once it's through downloading you'll get another pop up and you'll want to follow the directions of teh "Setup Wizard." When the Setup Wizard has finished it work, click on "Finish" to start Skype.
- If you haven't already, plug in the accessories (microphone, speakers and headphones) into your computer. Obviously, you'll will need a pair of headphones or speakers to listen to audio and a microphone to send voice over IP. You can get yourself a 2in1 headphone & speaker headset.
- You should find tiny icons reprsenting headphone and/or microphones near your Internet Broadband or the dialup jack on your computer.
- You can also do video calling with Skype 3.0. So, don't forget to install your Web camera!
Skype will enable video calls once it sees your web camera.
- You'll want to conduct a sound or echo test. Skype enables you to do this through the testing robot Echo123. If all goes well, your set up is now complete and you're good to go and can start using Skype.
