laptop bios password removal (dell)

I got a dell laptop that i had purchase it from ebay and that i cannot enter due to bios password been created.
how can i remove the bios password?

There is sometimes what they call a backdoor password that manufacturers use to maintain computers.

Try using the word "DELL" and let me know if that works.

Dell (cAsE sEnSiTiVe) is the correct password for a Dell BIOS. Let us know if you're still having trouble. There are other options.

Why do you want access to the BIOS?

dixzn,

If you can, remove the battery (the little round shiny battery) for about 30 minutes. I had the same thing happen to me when a customer brought his DELL laptop in. I couldn't get a hold of him, so I took out the battery. Worked for me !!
