Photobucket.com tutorial...

Hey y'all,

I thought I might offer a short tutorial on how to edit, upload and arrange photos using PhotoBucket.com This tutorial can be made a sticky at the top of the Share Your Photos forum as a review before posting.

I think you all know how to upload photos into PhotoBucket so we'll skip that part.

Once you have the photo loaded to PB you'll see a something like this...

To post a photo on CCAA, all you have to do is click once on the last choice called IMG (circled in red) so that it's highlighted, right click with your mouse, choose copy. Then, come to your post here on CCAA, place your curser exactly where you want the image to go, right click and hit paste. Be careful not to place the curser between a sentence. This will cause your sentence to be cut in half by the photo. In short, for the best visual effect, type your text, hit enter and then paste your photo.

Now, when you follow the steps I've described, you DO NOT have to use the little picture icon () because the necessary coding ( [IMG]http://www.pc101.com/forum/f88/photobucket-com-tutorial-4997/ ) has already been added for you.

If your photo is very large you'll want to reduce it. In the image above you'll see the EDIT button circled in blue.

Click that button and you'll see something like this...

The size of this image .... 99 x 99... is circled in purple. Generally, 500 x 500 is as large as you'll want to include in a post. Very large photos or a series of large photos (placed side by side) will cause the template to become distorted.

By looking at the number in the area I've circled in purple you'll see how large your photo is and whether not it should be reduced. To make the image smaller just choose the percentage by which you want to reduce the photo: 25%, 50%, or 75%.

Once you've reduced the image (or you hit cancel) you'll end up back here...

At this point, all you have to do is click once on the last choice called IMG so that it's highlighted, right click with your mouse, choose copy. Then, come to your post here on CCAA, place the curser exactly where you want the image to go, right click and hit paste.

Now, if you have more than one image to post. DO NOT post them side by side. This can really screw up the template! The better way is to paste the code for the first photo and hit enter. Then paste the code of the second photo and hit enter. This will place a space between each photo and keep the template configured correctly.

For example... here's what photos look like side by side...

Imagine how this might look if there were multiple photos and/or the photos were very large! It would cause the template to stretch horizontally and that looks funky.

Now, here's what the photos would look like if entered as I've discribed above, one on top of the other and with a space between each...

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.
