Reduce your temporary internet file space

The temporary internet files take up valuable hard drive space with copies of every page you've visted. Over time, these can build up and take up more space than you might imagine!

Also, if you visit sites that update their content frequently there's a good chance you won't be looking at the most recent version of the site. This is due to the fact that Internet Explorer will pull the page from its history... otherwise known your temporary internet files.

This is not a bad thing IF you have a slow connection (56K or slower) because having IE pull from your temp internet files will allow you to interact with the site faster. However, if you have a fast (boardband) connection, then you can get away with reducing the size of your temporary internet files.
  • Launch Internet Explorer
  • Select Tools
  • Select Internet Options from the drop down menu.
  • Click on the General tab
  • Under the Temporary Internet Files section click the Settings button
  • A settings window will pop up. Slide the button to the left so the size indicated in the text box on the right is one
  • Click OK and Ok again

And there ya go!
