Sending and receiving faxes...

Once you've set up XP Wizard you should be all set up to send/receive faxes.

To Send Fax

1. After you've created your document in whatever application (e.g. Word) press Ctrl+P or from the menu bar and choose File -> Print
2. From the Printer drop-down menu choose your fax machine.
3. Click Print!
4. The Send Fax Wizard will then launch so you'll click Next
5. Type the name of the person to whom you are sending the fax.
6. A Cover Page is optional but it always recommended.

To Receive Fax

To auto receive a fax... this function will be set up when you configure XP and will answer the phone after as many rings as you designate.

To manually receive a fax, click the following...

1. Start
2. All Programs
3. Accessories
4. Communications
5. Fax
6. Fax Console

When you hear the phone ring click, File and Receive Fax Now.

As you can see, having your computer set up to receive faxes automatically is a heck of a lot easier!

This is assuming you have dialup and a fax modem, correct?

All you need is a fax modem and a telephone line. A "dial up" connection isn't required because you're going through the phone, not the internet.

I thought I had a link on that post but I didn't. I just added it and it goes to this thread...
