Yeah... he was a bit of what I call an "
A." I pissed him off but it sure wasn't intentional!
I posted
here and Steve posted after me telling me not to. At the same time he had PM'd me about something else..... so not wanting to create a scene in the open forum, I responded to his post via PM with...
Ya know, don't want to sound like I'm after an argument but I'm totally confused by this post...

You took time out to tell me to stick to one thread but not to answer the question posed by abB420 in that same thread? Why not?
And why can't VB users share their experiences about a problem?? Doing so might enable us (or VB) to solve the problem! And if it's discovered that two, three ... or more people are having the same problem, isn't that information you'd want to know??
Lyte To which he responded... Jake already answered that thread and there is no reason for me to add anything else until the original thread starter responds.
Steve To which I responded... Again, I'm not meaning to be rude but, "They might have used.... " isn't an answer.
It's a response but not an answer. It doesn't say for certianty why the problem occured and it doesn't offer the a remedy to what obviously is a problem.
And what is this support ticket I supposedly opened? The only place on VB.com where I've bought up this problem is here in the forum. I saw no place that said "Open Support Ticket." I thought that was the purpose of the forums.
To which he responded.... I have no idea what you mean by:
"Again, I'm not meaning to be rude but ... "They might have used.... " isn't an answer. It's a response but not an answer"
But I definitely do detect rudeness and hostility in this remark.
Please read my sig and respect my wishes to not contact me via PM again. I will respond on the forum and the support system asd appropriate.
Steve
At which point I was like "Whoa!"

mate?! Needless to say I didn't PM him again. I did try and clarify myself
here.
Communicating via the internet has some serious disadvantages because you can't hear or see the person speaking. You can't here the tone in their voice, you can't hear the volume with which they are speaking and you sure as heck can't see their facial expressions! For this reason, I tend to use a lot of emoticons and type more words than most so that I'm clearly understood! I knew I was about to disagree with a Mod but I tried to do so respectfully. I really didn't feel as though Jake
answered the member's question! Had I known Steve would respond so defensively I would not have pursued the problem.
How is there confusion between what is an
answer and what is a
response? If you ask me, "What is 1 + 1?" and I say "It
might be 2." Have I
really answered your question!? I'm inclinded to think "No, I have not." Because the truth is the answer
might be an infinate number of things! Anyway....
I find it really odd to that they (VB/Jelsoft/Steve... I don't know who's idea this is) suggest that I
strip PC101 of its hacks ... take it down to just VB software.... and then they would look at it. Huh?! You mean there are no stripped down versions of VB 3.5.3 sitting on any computers over there?
Fortunately, the answer came from another
user and was confirmed (in my mind) by different
Mod. I'm glad we got to the bottom of this before I started dismantling our forum!
Oh... and please.... if ever I get snotty and defensive as a Mod... ugh... someone smack me!
