Question - Has Anyone Evrr Used This Software ??

Hello Members,

Has anyone ever used this software: ClearHDD ?

Quote:
ClearHDD
As a low level format program, this program will erase all data on the HDD. Data should be backed up before running this program.

1. Precaution
This program runs in DOS mode only.
Back up the data before running this program.
The target HDD to be cleared must be detected and recognized in CMOS Setup prior to running the program.

2. Running the program
Enter "CLEARHDD 0 or 1" on the A:\ prompt. (Clearhdd 0 for Master, Clearhdd 1 for Slave)
If error is detected in the HDD, the following screen will be displayed. (Error is detected in HDD)

Made by: Samsung, can't be too bad. Basically, this software is used for "wipping" out your Hard Drive. I just wondering if any 1 has used it and what they thought of it ??

Yeah that's my initial feelings about it too. Besides, how hard could it be to wipe out a hard drive

There are no shortage of softwares that will wipe hd's. I personally am just fine with a single windows format. In order to really wipe a drive clean, so that no data can ever be recovered, it requires at least 7 over-writes, which on large hd's can take a very long time.

The one I always recommended was Derek's Boot n Nuke.
