Head First series in O'Reilly

Recently I bought two titles from the Head First Series: Head First Java and Head First Design Patterns.

They are really great books. You can solidify your concepts reading those books and the main thing is that you dont need to read bulk of pages.

The concepts are presented just the way we make notes during classwork!

With all those funny diagrams and true conceptual talk, I was so much attracted to it that now I'm planning to buy the other titles.

I just wanted to share this with you guys. They are really worth every penny, and just remember that they ain't any reference book.

Sounds really good. I have trouble finding good books that don't put me to sleep or drag on and on.

I will check these ones out for sure.

I have all the books in the series except for EJB. They are really good. You know for the first time you don't sleep when reading some theoretical ones like Design Patterns! I hope they come up more such books of the same kind.

The Head First Series would good especially for two types of people:

1. People who don't know Java and want to "learn" Java

2. People who know Java and want to know methods to teach Java

There are more titles coming in the series and would be a good collection to your library.

Nice references to the books. There are so many out there that it's really not possible to decide which one to go for.

A nice thread with a list of the best books would be nice. Share your experiences here.

Head First HTML is getting released, but I think Head First DHTML would have been good. I wonder how many would invest in buying a book for HTML :P

I like the Sams series as far as tech books go

They are quite easy to follow with real world examples as well.
O'Reilly also make good books.
