Where I can get header files...

I am not good at Socket programming using C++ / C. But I need to compile some cpp codes for security hole [or you call it exploit]...but using MSVC++ 6.0 I cant compile them properly as may of the header files r missing like netdb.h , sys/time.h and many headers like this.

I have maximum [ not all !!] of them on internet and save them in my include directory but the problem is some of them are not working.

So i want to know the reilable name for this header files regarding port and scoket programming.

Thanx in advnace......

It sounds like you are trying to compile code written for one C compiler in another C compiler -- and probably on a different Operating System.

What you are attempting to do is possible, it's just not very easy.

Instead, what I would recommend is downloading and installing a free Unix, such as FreeBSD or Fedora. With those, you will also get GCC, the worlds premier C compiler.

If you must remain in the Windows world, you can get a lot of the functionality of Unix (including GCC) by downloading and installing Cygwin.

Cygwin is a Unix-like user environment for Windows.

Thanx spencer.

I have tried Cygwin .... and really works but sometime I need to compile these codes in Windows platform and where I haven't Cygwin installed.

I have asked the question for that purpose only :=)

btw .. Will SDK update give me a better solution ??

I do not think that the Microsoft SDK update will help this problem.

I think that your best best is going to be copying the include files from a Unix system, such as FreeBSD or Linux.

Still, porting can be a real pain.
